Beans & Vines Express was born out of passion—a New York kid's love for his family's Dominican flavors.
Our founder, Edson Familia Jr., grew up in New York eating the incredible food his father, Edson Sr., and aunt, Francia Hanza, brought from the Dominican Republic. In 2017, he opened Beans & Vines Express at 4842 Broadway in Inwood—his o
Beans & Vines Express was born out of passion—a New York kid's love for his family's Dominican flavors.
Our founder, Edson Familia Jr., grew up in New York eating the incredible food his father, Edson Sr., and aunt, Francia Hanza, brought from the Dominican Republic. In 2017, he opened Beans & Vines Express at 4842 Broadway in Inwood—his own express version of those beloved family recipes.
In the early days, his father's nearby restaurant kept the neighborhood well fed, and the two shared the block with family pride. Then the pandemic hit. His father's restaurant closed due to hardship—and suddenly, Beans & Vines Express became something bigger than it was ever meant to be. The sole keeper of those flavors. The place the neighborhood could still come to taste home.
Our signature Chimi Gourmet is a tribute to Aunt Francia Hanza—the undisputed master chef of the family, whose chimi recipe is the stuff of legend.
This is more than a restaurant. It's a family story, still being written. And Edson Sr.? We know he'll be back.

Nuestro fundador, Edson Familia Jr., creció en Nueva York disfrutando la increíble comida de su padre Edson Sr. y su tía Francia Hanza, ambos nacidos en la República Dominicana. En 2017, abrió Beans & Vines Express en el 4842 de Broadway en Inwood—su propia versión express de esas queridas recetas familiares.
Al principio, el restaurante de su padre en el vecindario mantenía al barrio bien alimentado, y los dos compartían el vecindario con orgullo familiar. Luego llegó la pandemia.
